With each monthly release, Exabeam strives to bring our customers new product features and innovation to improve security operations. Our commitment to building a user-friendly security operations platform with robust functionality is always top of mind.

Today, we’d like to highlight the incredible work done by our Documentation, Education, and Customer Support teams, who have recently debuted some useful resources to improve the customer experience and empower Exabeam practitioners.

In this article, we’ll shine a spotlight on the top five customer experience enhancements for Fall 2023, including:

Connecting pre-built dashboards to compliance requirements

Exabeam makes it easy for customers to visualize and understand their security posture with 39 pre-built dashboards. What’s even more impressive is that our Documentation team has gone the extra mile to map each pre-built dashboard to its corresponding compliance requirements. This useful information assists users in identifying gaps in their security and ensures they are compliant with standards such as ISO, HIPAA, NIST, and GDPR. With this enhancement, our customers can streamline their compliance reporting, and security audits effortlessly.

This can be found within Exabeam documentation under Dashboards and Compliance/Event Store. In the example below, you’ll notice the purple note, which matches the dashboard to the compliance requirements it can report on.

Early Access (EA) program integrated into the Exabeam Security Operations Platform

Our commitment to transparency and customer satisfaction led us to integrate the Early Access program for Collectors directly into the Exabeam Security Operations Platform. Now, customers can request early access to upcoming features right from the user interface. This not only provides access to new features for pre-deployment testing, but also gives users a glimpse into our development pipeline, helping them stay informed about what’s coming next. To see what EA Collectors are available, simply access the Collectors library within your Exabeam management console. In the example below, you can see the EA Collectors highlighted in yellow.

Pop-up training videos and Exabeam Resource Center built into the console

In today’s digital age, it’s often more convenient to watch a short how-to video than to sift through extensive documentation. And wouldn’t it be nice if those videos were built right into the product? Our Education team has created a series of concise, focused training videos on features and functionalities available in-product from the Exabeam Resource Center. These “snackable” videos are available within our Exabeam Community portal and directly within the user interface. By reducing the learning curve, we can help users become experts quickly, ensuring they get the most out of their Exabeam solution.

Getting started with the Exabeam Collectors onboarding guide

For those involved in security operations, integrating third-party data sources is a common task. However, the nuances associated with different vendors and data types can be challenging to navigate. To simplify this process, our Product and Documentation teams collaborated to develop a comprehensive online guide that takes users through the process of setting up Collectors with various Exabeam security and technology partners. This step-by-step assistance ensures a seamless experience when working with diverse data sources.

Valuable resource information with Exabeam Labs on GitHub

Our commitment to enhancing user experience extends to providing valuable resources through Exabeam Labs on GitHub. This content library contains a wealth of information on parsers, events, models, and rules. Users can explore data sources, use cases, product categories, MITRE ATT&CK® coverage, and more. To use the library, find your version of Advanced Analytics and review the information in one of the following ways:

  • Data Sources: Click Data Sources and select a vendor and a product that are the source of specific data. View the activity types, the parsers, and the number of rules and models Exabeam employs to cover this data source. Drill down further to view the parser syntax or the names of the rules and models.
  • Use Cases: Click Use Cases and select a specific use case. Exabeam supports use cases in the following categories: compromised insiders, malicious insiders, and external threats. View tables for each vendor and product that the use case supports. Each table shows the relevant activity types, parsers, and the number of supported rules and models. Drill down further to view the names of the rules and models.
  • Product Categories: Click Product Categories to view a list of products arranged by categories. Select a product to view the activity types, parsers, and the number of rules and models Exabeam employs to cover this data source. Drill down further to view the parser syntax or the names of the rules and models.
  • MITRE ATT&CK: Click Coverage Map to view the ATT&CK framework techniques Exabeam covers with its rules and models.

The Exabeam Labs GitHub content library also includes a list of prebuilt correlation rules. In addition, you can browse other resources to understand how the library is based on the Common Information Model (CIM) 2.0, including a list of platforms and landscapes and a list of field descriptions.
