Exabeam is proud to announce the launch of TEN18 — a cybersecurity research and insights group dedicated to transforming technical knowledge into business trust for security practitioners, from security analysts to the CISO. Comprised of seasoned Exabeam cybersecurity professionals with both offensive and defensive expertise, TEN18 by Exabeam will analyze the global cybersecurity landscape and offer trusted opinions, deep technical insights, and impactful and actionable intelligence on cyber events and top-of-mind security concerns.

In this article:

What’s in a Name?

When Exabeam co-founders came together to start the company, big data became the source of inspiration for the name “Exabeam.” The AI-driven Exabeam Security Operations Platform was built on the idea of processing the massive amount of data today’s top organizations generate — oftentimes many, many gigabytes. Accurately predicting that “exabytes” of data would soon outpace “gigabytes” and “terabytes”, the team leaned into the “exabyte” unit of measurement. The name Exabeam is derived from “exabyte” — or one billion gigabytes (10 to the power of 18.)

The name “TEN18” is an extension of the values Exabeam was founded on. Today’s security teams are inundated with hundreds, or even thousands, of security alerts per day. Shifting through and making sense of all of that security data has become critical to protecting organizations. Resource and budget constraints, developing trust with stakeholders, and showing value to the business are key concerns.

TEN18 by Exabeam was founded on the principle that big thoughts, opinions, and insights can translate into even bigger ideas, more meaningful security programs, and better defended organizations. Its name is a reminder of the group’s outsized dedication to comprehensive cybersecurity research and insights.
