Essay and Video Contest
Exabeam is the Smarter SIEM™ company. We help security operations and insider threat teams work smarter, allowing them to detect, investigate and respond to cyberattacks in 51 percent less time.
As a SIEM and UEBA market leader, we’re passionate about cybersecurity and want to support the next generation of professionals pursue an education and career in cybersecurity. As the cybersecurity landscape evolves and cyber threats become more complex and difficult to detect, we’re looking for students who show passion for driving innovative solutions and addressing the cybersecurity challenges of the future.
Between March 1, 2020 – June 30, 2020, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and contact information, academic transcripts, and either a 600- to 1,000-word essay OR link to a 5-minute video that answers one of the following questions. Use the email subject line “Exabeam Cybersecurity Scholarship”. Applicants are encouraged to use visual aids, diagrams, and effects in video submissions.
- How would you go about making U.S. elections safer?
- How would you protect user privacy and security on social media platforms?
- Do you think your generation is more or less secure than your parents’ generation, and why?
The Exabeam Cybersecurity Scholarship Program is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are sixteen (16) years of age or older at the time of application and who are currently enrolled (or have been accepted to enroll) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (e.g., college or university) with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Selection Criteria and Prize(s)
On or about July 31, 2020, Exabeam will select up to three (3) submitted applications as the potential prize-winning applications. Potential winners will be selected based on the criteria of originality and creativity (80%) and grade point average (GPA) (20%). The potential winners will be notified via e-mail.
Three (3) winners will receive a scholarship prize in the following amounts:
- First prize of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00 USD).
- Second prize of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00 USD).
- Third prize of one thousand dollars ($1,000 USD).
