Exabeam, a global leader in intelligence and automation that powers security operations announced today that Konoike Unyu, a comprehensive logistics service provider Konoike Unyu, has selected the Exabeam New-Scale Security Operations Platform, a next-generation SIEM and analytics platform, to improve the efficiency of its group-wide security operations and strengthen internal fraud prevention measures. Konoike Unyu, a comprehensive logistics service provider, has adopted Exabeam New-Scale Security Operations Platform, a next-generation SIEM and analytics platform, to improve the efficiency of security operations and strengthen internal fraud prevention measures for the entire group.
Exabeam Solution Features
The New-Scale Platform is a security operations solution that captures signs of security threats and automates incident response based on the analysis results. The user entity and behavioral analytics (UEBA) function, which uses machine learning, learns the normal behavior of users and devices and quickly detects abnormal behavior that deviates from this. This function simultaneously strengthens internal fraud countermeasures and reduces the burden of security operations.
Exabeam also possesses patented technology that “automatically creates behavior-based timelines” from the log information it acquires. Logs are automatically associated with people and devices and organized chronologically to visualize a behavior timeline for each user or entity. Because this timeline displays all actions as a “story,” it is easy to compare “before and after” anomalous behavior and “with normal behavior. This makes it possible even for personnel without expertise in security operations to quickly determine threats and understand the situation, and also contributes to the reduction of human operational errors through automation.
Comments from Konoike Unyu Co. (Mr. Masaya Sato, Deputy General Manager, ICT Promotion Division and General Manager, Digital Transformation Promotion Department)
We are focusing on comprehensive security measures throughout the entire group, both in Japan and overseas, with the aim of enhancing our cyber resilience capabilities to not only prevent attacks, but also to minimize damage and achieve early recovery in the event of an emergency. As part of this effort, we introduced Exabeam in September 2023 and officially started its operation in January 2024.
Prior to implementing Exabeam, the company was faced with the challenge of analyzing and correlating the large volume of logs emanating from its security solutions. With Exabeam, we were able to automate alert monitoring and correlation analysis by capturing logs from Active Directory, Azure AD, Zscaler, CrowdStrike, Okta, Microsoft 365, and other on-premises and cloud applications. We were able to capture a variety of logs regardless of whether they were on-premises or in the cloud, and automate alert monitoring and correlation analysis.
Exabeam UEBA functionality can score and dynamically identify normal and abnormal user behavior and monitor it on a timeline. This enables both reduction of the burden of security operations and enhancement of internal fraud countermeasures. In addition, correlation analysis of various logs enables quick and accurate identification of the cause of incidents, which was previously difficult.
The essential effect of implementing Exabeam is not simply a reduction in man-hours, but the elimination of the dependency on log analysis and the release of excessive burden on the staff in charge. For security measures, it is essential to conduct proactive reviews based on the latest trends of attackers, and the introduction of Exabeam has enabled us to focus our resources on important tasks such as security strategy planning. In the future, we intend to further enhance the cyber resilience of the entire KONOIKE Group by further promoting the use of Exabeam, strengthening the SOC/CSIRT, and training security personnel.”
