Case Study: Momentum Telecom - Exabeam

A Simplified Approach to SIEM Allows Momentum Telecom to Focus

The Challenge

Momentum Telecom provides unified communication, VoIP, broadband solutions, and cloud services to business owners, IT managers, resellers and cable companies. Security is not their day job. Momentum Telecom was utilizing too many resources on security. They needed a security information and event management (SIEM) solution that used automation and intelligence so that they could free up people to work on their core business.

Specifically, Momentum Telecom was looking to reduce needing to hire expensive and hard-to-find security engineers. They also needed a security solution that would enable their current team to handle their security workload.

Momentum Telecom focused on solutions that could provide a short problem discovery and mediation cycle. After contacting the various vendors and talking with current customers, Momentum Telecom chose Exabeam Data Lake, Exabeam Advanced Analytics, and Exabeam Entity Analytics.

The ResultsSimplicity Equals Productivity

According to Momentum Telecom, a SIEM solution that is simple to use makes your security efforts less brittle. Frequently during a security crisis, the people involved with mitigation discover that they weren’t monitoring a needed log source, or that someone turned off a critical piece of equipment and no one noticed. When your SIEM tool monitors all of these issues for you, you are free to focus on your core business without constantly shifting back to make sure your security solution is doing its job.

We need a lot of data from different sources and we didn't want to have to worry about limiting the amount of data that a SIEM could examine because of how log volume-based pricing works.
